You Can Design America's Next Iconic Vehicle
Michelin Challenge Design - the global transportation design competition in its ninth year - is looking for America's next iconic vehicle. Submissions for the 2009 program will be accepted through April 16, 2008. The winning designs will be evaluated for their uniqueness, emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution by a jury of automotive design professionals and receive prominent display in the MCD exhibit at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. Mercedes-Benz has followed up the debut of the C-class coupe at the Geneva motor show with the unveiling of this new range-topping version, the C63 AMG coupe. Set to land in North American showrooms in September following a planned debut at next month's New York auto show, the new BMW M3-challenger receives the same updated mechanical package as the recently facelifted C63 AMG sedan. It will be sold from the outset as a 2012-model-year car.
Noted Texas attorney John O'Quinn, a car collector who at one time owned more than 600 vehicles, died after the SUV he was driving in Houston ran off the road and crashed into a tree. O'Quinn was 68. Police are continuing to investigate the crash, which happened Thursday morning on wet roads.
